The idea originally was all about making there best and unique vodka I could. Kastro De Chroma which means The Colour Castle in Greek. My friend Matthew was the one who came up with the name after looking through a translation document on google. This was the one that stuck as it held its own and there was nothing but good solid comments from the target audience while I was developing the brand in university during lockdown. although the pandemic was still around and life was on hold the ideas never stopped flowing in my head…

Fast forward to 2021 I had been at University for a year I had been self employed as a barber after working in a shop at home for 2 years. This allowed me to make a few connections. In January 2020 I had just began working for 101 nightclub in Cardiff the experience opened my eyes to the possibility of networking and new ideas for making money. My experience here taught me two vital things about the industry :

Firstly, VIP guests always order the expensive Cîroc-flavoured vodka. Premium-flavoured vodka is clearly in high demand, but most students and party people are made to feel it’s unaffordable and obnoxious. On the other hand, ordering a “double Kastro and Coke” just sounds so natural and intuitive. It rolls off the tongue. As a student I knew where most of them were going and it was somewhere let’s say more in budget. However, there needs and wants were still the same. but most students and party people are made to feel it’s unaffordable or out of reach when wanting something of quality. We were to get very drunk while drinking something that would almost definitely mean there not attending there 12pm lectures or and seminar the next day.

Secondly, UK spirits are either bitter or extremely sugary and often very one-dimensional. When you go to places like Barcelona you feel the passion behind the mixology, a depth of flavour that we just aren't quite achieving in the UK. Kastro De Chroma will change that, providing a new type of drinking experience. With immersive flavours, it will reach far beyond the current boundaries and expectations of the average British party goer.

Even during the pandemic our needs were the same only the lights weren’t coming on in clubs, but it was the sun coming up at 5:30 on a Thursday morning. With this in mind I had to come up with the idea to fill in the needs of student and other lit party people with my own premium vodka that would stand out for its crazy flavours and immaculate Design.

I mean asking bar staff for a “double Kastro and Coke” does sound fairly suave in my head, I though it just rolled off the tongue. But also, the thought of being able to get a new type of vodka that has flavours never done before was my main drive. Forget cherry flavour forget blueberry forget summer fruits vodka… it’s about time you had something tropical, something original something that will never leave your mind and will have your tastebuds livid they can’t have more.

Kastro will bring a world of colour to you!

There’s still a possibility we will use some of these in the future for limited addition bottles… Keep an eye out!
