It all begins with an idea…

the idea originally was all about clothing in the beginning. Utilising the ideas that everyone was wearing hoodies in school and myself and my friend Matthew began the idea of crating a clothing line of hoodies and t-shirts. The idea had every chance of taking off as we knew our target audience we had first hand account of what they wanted and what prices would be acceptable. In Bassaleg school especially in my year we had a few people selling food and drinks on the yard. we wanted in too especially after three of the boys had made over £1000 selling chocolate bars to the other boys at break lunch and often in lesson too. After Matthew and I had the thoughts and ideas down we needed a solid name. The first name we came up with was simply M&M clothing but this was too boring and overly simple so we scraped it. The second name which too the best part of a whole IT lesson to think of was Éclat, which means sparkle in French. We thought we was being boujee, but being in secondary school the second anyone found out that two guy has a clothing brand called sparkle in French as you can image the name was short lived. The third and final name was Kastro De Chroma which means The White Castle in Greek. This was the one that stuck as it held its own and there was nothing but good solid comments from the target audience at Bassaleg School. A few months down the line and we were struggling to find what we wanted and school were was building up as it was coming up too GCSE exam season therefor we had put the big idea on hold.

fast forward to 2020 I had been at University for 4 to 5 months and had just began working for 101 nightclub in Cardiff the experience opened my eyes to the possibility of networking and new ideas. Working in the club I noticed that everyone I served at tables always wanted the flavoured bottles of Ciroc or a few sour shots on the house. I also notices who was coming in the most and who surprisingly I thought wasn't. And that was the students of Cardiff. As a student knew where most of them were going and it was somewhere lets say more in budget however, there needs and wanter were still the same. (have to many tasty drinks and when they go out for there second fag the packs empty and the lights are coming on and the clubs empty) Even during the pandemic our needs were the same only the lights weren’t coming on it was the sun coming up. With this in mind I had come up with the idea to fill in the needs of student and other lit party people with my own Peng vodka that would stand out for its crazy flavours and sick Design. I mean asking bar staff for a “double Kastro n coke” does sound decent in my head, I though it just rolled off the tongue.
